Plant and Life Sciences Publishing
Plant and Life Sciences Publishing (PALS) is a program of the Department of Horticulture in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell University. PALS assists university faculty in publishing, marketing and distributing books for small farmers, gardeners, land owners, workshops, college courses, and consumers. The University of Maine and West Virginia University are partners.
Books in this Catalog
PALS books are practical and comprehensive. They are based on decades of grower experience and university research. The gardening, small-scale agriculture and rural-land management books were written for the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great-Lakes states and adjoining Canadian provinces. Most contain knowledge that will be useful to a wider audience. See the list of book categories to the right.
Most of the books in this catalog were published by NRAES between 2000 and 2011. Some classic NRAES books from the 90s are also included. In 2011,NRAES, a multi-university program in the Northeast, was disbanded. PALS was formed to manage the NRAES’ book catalog and provide book publishing, marketing, and distribution services to CALS faculty and their colleagues.
